Well here's a little something to destroy yer ears from Louisiana and Texas. Hellkontroll are a pulverizing two man distorted, noisy crustcore, in the vein of Confuse, Gloom and Gai. You already know what to expect? wrong. I know there are endless japanese crustcore worship bands that are boring, but Hellkontroll takes their music to a more bastardizing extreme, even throwin in some heavy hardcore parts. These dudes played last TIFY fest and they truly ripped it up with their frantic guitar and relentless blasts. This recording is a good representation of their music in my opinion, low-fi and devastating. Gotta love the raw shit. I definitely hope i get to see this band again soon

This is Guided Cradle's second LP and it pounds ass. This PDX hardcore war crust metal madness is well executed and delivers the goods promised in their previous splits and 1st LP, with a way better recording if ya ask me. Heavy hardcore marries death/black metal sound in the chapel of d-beat.

Former dread 101 and oi polloi members.

random fact about GC, they started out as a cover band, covering Anti-Cimex, Doom and Extreme Noise Terror among others.

Can't pronounce their name. I first herd these guys about a year ago and unfortunately i was too intoxicated to remember their name (which is hard enough). Anyway I came across this here LP and i was hooked. Riff-loaded, stenchy, and relentless d-motherfuckin beat with a fresh breath.

I really want to hear more.

So you get prog grind, bastard hardcore and southern sludge, break it up, pack the bong, take a lung-busting hit and voila! you've got Republicorpse. I just can't get enough of this band. Not what comes to mind when you think Orlando, FL is it? these guys have been steady killing it for a while now. No doubt one of my favorite bands out right now. fucken pulverizing speed, and none better than the murderous yet precise blasts. punishing grind for real, though more on the prog side. they've got the insane song structures always keeping shit interesting, constantly building and releasing tension that often leads to fucking grinding madness or maybe a heavy, pummeling slow part without loosing that southern riff-driven guitar . these boys are tight with their shit and got the socially aware lyrics more heavy bands need along with the weed-lovin side of things.

If you think this sounds good, ya ain't seen nothin yet. They are working on some other shit and the new songs sound ridiculous. Here's a band that's ,dare I say, even better live.

I like the raw yet tight sound alot. These folks are talented and renewed my interest in folk music for sure. Didn't know much about 'em so Im going to share this Q&A session i found online :

"The Question Is, What Color? CD EP was recorded live at The Firefly and released in late 2007. The first release by Paperdolls, an acoustic doom-folk duo from Miami Fl. The Instrumentation alone paints a picture with gloomy and somber waves that deposit you on the shore for you to watch them recede and fade into the moonlight ,only to return in variations of size and mass. On top of this duel male and female vocals that seem to compliment each other like a buzz and a sting. The female vocals, at certain points, jump from hauntingly beautiful singing to angered wails that ooze frustration from the speakers. The male end of the vocals are raspy and hit just the right notes. The subject matter varies from the bleak world of excess that we live in , to observing your environment and your role in it. Also, we get scenarios of being stuck out in the middle of sea with no booze and a grim chance of survival, and the story of a magic piano lesson told only through instruments.The way the intrumentals and vocal parts are divided here is very well chosen, and create an atmosphere for whoever hears the album, or sees them live. These kids have been together for about 3 years , and have done some touring up the east coast and all over florida. They still have not figured out how to plug in any of their various instruments." - incest records.

They are also releasing a 7" this month.

Alan Lamb - Night Passage

Alan Lamb's "Night Passage," is a collection of recordings made in the Australian outback, documenting a mile-long section of abandoned telegraph wires.  It is often hard to believe that these sounds are completely un-manipulated as Lamb claims, but either way this album is creepy and awesome.

here's 80's Colombian black/trash metal band Reencarnacion.

This here is their classic album 888 Metal, that gained massive cult following including Euronymus of Mayhem's personal collection. I can see why; This shit rules, its everything I like; lo-fi, fast, interesting song structures, and still remaining unique (they do a few weird things).
